  1. Once your Fire is plugged into your computer, you can drag the downloaded file anywhere inside the Kindle Fire. You will then need to locate the file using File Expert and install the file.

  2. You actually can just down load the file to your kindle and open with kindle installer(make sure the setting that allows you to download apps from unknown sources is set to on) and install it.

    1. You can put it in any folder on your Kindle Fire, you just need to remember where you put it so you can open it up on File Expert

  7. On step 6. you can also just download the file onto Google drive and go to Google drive with the kindle fire and click on the file to download. It worked for me, plus you can also upload pictures to Google drive and do the same to post pictures.

  9. Hi Sam, thanks for making it so easy to install Instagram. It worked a charm. I used Helios File Manager, but I think any file managing type app would do. For others reading this, I did not see the download appear in the Silk browser downloads, so accidentally downloaded it several times. Then I went to my FM app...it was there...selected, installed, done! I have Instagram on my KFHD.

    1. I read your instructions at the top and see Step 5 is copying Instagram to your PC, then copying over to the Kindle. So that is an option, as well as just downloading from Silk directly, as I did.
